M.S. Program
| Our Master’s in Statistics program prepares students for a career in modern statistics and data science either as a researcher or a data analyst in a data-driven industry. The program is built on four components: ● Core Statistical Courses: A sequence of courses that give students a thorough grounding in statistical theory and modern statistical computation. ● Elective Courses: Elective courses students take to enhance their skills. With permission from the Institute of Statistics, students may take non-statistical courses. ● Practicum: A practicum class designed to train students in hands-on data analytical skills. Students take on statistical consultancy cases from real clients. ● Statistics Seminars and Master’s Thesis: Students are exposed to real statistics research in weekly seminars. The Master’s Thesis is the final part of the degree program; under the guidance of a faculty member, the student performs research in a chosen area of statistics,allowing them to develop deep knowledge of that area. A unique feature of our Master’s Program is that each student chooses one of three specialization tracks: Data Science, Industrial Statistics, and Biostatistics.
