Master’s Degree Regulations

    1. Master’s students must choose from one of the following tracks in their first year:
a. Industrial Statistics
b. Financial Statistics
c. Biostatistics.
Professors overseeing each program will advise students on course election. Please see additional documents for course requirements.
 

    2. Required courses for ALL students in the Master’s program, regardless of the track chosen, include: Mathematical Statistics (four credits), Linear Models (three credits), Seminar (two semesters, one credit each), and Practicing Statistics (two credits). Students are divided into two groups, with half taking Practicing Statistics in Fall and the other in Spring. Students must complete 32 credits and obtain a minimum grade of B- in every required course to satisfy the MS degree requirements.

    3. In cases that the principal advisor for the Master’s thesis is not from the institute, the student must choose a co-advisor from the Institute of Statistics.

    4. The above policies are subject to future revisions that will take effect following institutional review.
